Before you comment, please make sure you have read the entire comment. I might have answered one of your questions/nitpicks already. Second out of two final photoshop projects for college. The subject was free with a few restrictions. Speed paint fail since it wasn't speed at all. It doesn't help that I don't have a tablet either.
It's been years since I've been willing to draw a Soul Calibur fan art, but it wasn't before yesterday that I finally did it. This is Nightmare, iconic character in the Soul series, in his
Soul Calibur II incarnation.
He was A PAIN, seriously, especially since I've done Nightmare all in one layer and without a traditional-made sketch/line art. I thought drawing a knight would have been easy with the way I paint, but since my friend suggested me to draw Nightmare, well, it was a nightmare. No pun intended. The fact hat his armor is colored really changed a lot, but I might be a little too hard on myself too.
However, I'm very happy with the result! The only problem is that I'm sure people see it, yet again, way darker than I do, which will take out A LOT of the details I put in his armor... Also, thanks to the format restriction, I couldn't show Soul Edge (his weapon) properly, and instead looks like a giant and bizarre meat stick. I also missed some things about Nightmare's design (things I won't point out since I'm going to add them in the future).
All these said, I still love it and am proud of it. Most people agree with me that SCII Nightmare is the most bad ass out of all versions of him.
Enjoy!
