Artist's Comments

Before you comment, please make sure you have read the entire comment. I might have answered one of your questions/nitpicks already.

<EDIT> Colored the line art. The difference is very little, but it makes the girl more harmonic with the rest of the drawing. </EDIT>

First out of two final photoshop projects for college. The subject was free with a few restrictions.

Before you ask, no she isn't Enma Ai from Jigoku Shoujo. She was supposed to have blue eyes, but I changed it to yellow followed by red, suggested by my friend who also thought it will look like Ai XD

Anyway, this scene illustrates an assassination in progress, the young priestess being the target (or is she?). Even in front of such a threat, she keeps her calm and cool. Why is it? How? Is the assassin really a threat to her? Who knows what is really hidden behind those cold, crimson eyes.

Trying out my semi-realistic style again. Thanks to that, the young miko looks like a doll like my friend *Angel-Alaria said.

I think I've gotten quite better with digital drawing under little time, which is a good thing. The hardest and longest part of the painting was actually the house itself. Straight lines kill Chison. At least it was fun painting it, especially the blood.

Talking about blood, a large amount of it on the blade are actually made with brushes (see at the end) because I was lacking time. Of course, the brushes itself are never enough, so I still had to add some depths to it as well as the blood sliding along the blade to tip.

Also, the moon is nothing more than an image (see at the end) with some tweaking. I could have tried drawing a moon myself, but it would have taken too much time and it wouldn't look as good. I'll do that next time when I won't be in such rush.

On a random note, I will be coloring the line art tomorrow I think... Now enough talking! I hope you enjoy it ^_^

Was not expecting something like this when I saw the WIP.
It looks amazing, I love the detail you put in it!
I really like how you did the girl and the blade, too! How it's kind of with the out-of-focus effect because it's nearer and stuff.
I'd write more and actually read all the description, but I really should be doing some work, hahahahhahaha. Enough procrastination for this night... ;_;

Thank you dear~

I'm sure it can come with time and practice. It also depends on what kind of influence you have and how you actually practice to progress

Aww~<3 The fact that you let a bit of your procrastination time to comment a bit on my work makes me happy X3 Thank you!

Oh yes the out-of-focus! The sword really looked out of place without it somehow since the picture is so wide. Doing so really adds depth to the drawing and a cooler feeling for the eyes as well

Go go Yasu! Work well and take occasional breaks, but don't procrastinate too long! XD

Came out wonderful but then your art tends to come out like that all the time! The shading is great and the color choices set the mood, dark and ominous. The blood came out fantastic and the moon really seems bright. Overall it came out excellent, definitely faving. Can't wait for the next piece! =D
